Rockland County has two main options for getting to Midtown Manhattan:

Short Line / Trailways Bus
Serves most of Rockland County. Express buses to the Port Authority Bus Terminal. ~1 hr door-to-door from New City. Typical peak fare ~$18–22 one way.
Metro-North Rail (limited access)
Nanuet station serves Clarkstown via the Main Line into Penn Station. ~50 min to Midtown. Good Park & Ride access. Typical peak fare ~$17.

Commuter Rail

Metro-North Railroad — Pascack Valley Line

Commuter rail service from Spring Valley to Hoboken, NJ with stops in Nanuet, Pearl River, and other Rockland communities. Connects to NJ Transit and PATH for Manhattan access.

Bus Service

Transport of Rockland (TOR)

Rockland County's public bus system. Operates local routes connecting major towns, shopping centers, and transit hubs. Reduced fares for seniors and disabled riders.

Tappan ZEExpress (TZx)

Express bus service across the Mario M. Cuomo Bridge to Tarrytown Metro-North station. Connects Rockland County to the Hudson Line for Manhattan commutes.

Coach USA / Short Line

Express bus service from Rockland County to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan. Stops in Suffern, Spring Valley, Nanuet, Nyack, and other locations.

Bridges

Rockland County is connected to NYC and Westchester by two major Hudson River crossings.

Mario M. Cuomo Bridge (Tappan Zee) — The primary crossing between Rockland and Westchester counties. Carries I-87/I-287 across the Hudson River. Includes a shared-use path for pedestrians and cyclists (open seasonally).
Bear Mountain Bridge — Connects Stony Point (Rockland) to Cortlandt (Westchester) via Route 6/202. Less congested alternative to the Cuomo Bridge for northern Rockland.
